More Fun at Red Velvet Media and Red Velvet Media Blogtalk Radio!
Tune in this Friday September 16,2011 at 2pm pst /5 pm est for Holly Stephey as she talks to Bebe Buell and Hard Love !

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ROCK N' ROLL VET, BEBE BUELL, TEAMS UP WITH NIJI ENTERTAINMENT FOR 'HARD LOVE'

Not many people can say that they opened for Alice Cooper and the Ramones, recorded with the Cars, was a fashion model/Playboy Playmate, penned a New York Times best-selling autobiography ('Rebel Heart") and has been praised by such rock icons as Steven Tyler, Joey Ramone and Lemmy Kilmister.

But Bebe Buell has managed to obtain all of these lofty accomplishments, and will undoubtedly add further highlights to her music career, with the impending release of the Bebe Buell Band's new album, 'Hard Love.'

Released on September 27th via the Niji Entertainment Group (a label co-founded by Wendy and Ronnie James Dio), 'Hard Love' is one rockin' good time, as evidenced by such tracks as "Mother of Rock & Roll," "Devil You Know," and a cover of Gang of Four's "I Love A Man In A Uniform."

And Bebe is backed by a rock solid backing band, comprised of Guns N’ Roses drummer Frank Ferrer, former Iggy Pop/Glenn Danzig/Samhain bassist Pete Marshall on bass, former Das Damen/D-Generation guitarist Jimmy Walls on guitar, and former U Melt keyboardist Zac Lasher.

Soon, fans of passion fueled, pure rock n' roll will discover what the rock elite has known for decades; Bebe Buell is the real deal, and one fierce rocker. 'Hard Love' is all the sonic proof you'll need.

Bebe: "This is the most important record of my career and it comes from deep in my soul and guts! I love my fans and that's why I do this. Hence the title 'Hard Love.' Every track is filled with my heart, which beats for rock and roll. I'm my happiest onstage and I can't wait to hit the road and play these songs live with the strongest line-up I've ever made magic with."

Holly Stephey Talks to Gary Tillery about his new book "Working Class Mystic: A Spiritual Biography of George Harrison"

Lots of thing happening at "Red Velvet Media" And " Red Velvet Media Blogtalk Radio"..

Wednesday I will be interviewing Gary Tillery with his new Book On George Harrison and then Friday Talking to Bebe Buell about her new LP Hard Love!

Tune in tomorrow Wednesday September 14, 2011 as Holly Stephey talks to Gary Tillery about his new book on
George Harrison entitled "Working Class Mystic: A Spiritual Biography of George Harrison"

Book Available November 2011 at Quest Books http://www.questbooks.net/index.cfm

John Lennon called himself a working class hero. George Harrison was a working class mystic. Born in Liverpool as the son of a bus conductor and a shop assistant, for the first six years of his life he lived in a house with no indoor bathroom. This book gives an honest, in-depth view of Harrison’s personal journey— from his blue-collar childhood to his role as a world-famous spiritual icon.

Author Gary Tillery’s approach is warmly human and free of the fawning but insolent tone of most rock biographers. He frankly discusses the role drugs played in leading Harrison to mystical insight but emphasizes that he soon renounced psychedelics as a means to the spiritual path. It was with conscious commitment that Harrison journeyed to India, studied sitar with Ravi Shankar, practiced yoga, learned meditation from the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and became a devotee of Hinduism.

George worked hard to subdue his own ego and to understand the truth beyond appearances. He preferred to keep a low profile, but his empathy for suffering people led him to spearhead the first charitable rock-and-roll super event. And despite his wealth and fame, he was always delighted to slip on overalls and perform manual labor on his grounds. At ease with holy men discussing the Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita, he was ever the bloke from Liverpool whose father drove a bus, whose brothers were tradesmen, and who had worked himself as an apprentice electrician until the day destiny called.

Tillery’s engaging narrative depicts Harrison as a sincere seeker who acted out of genuine care for humanity and used his celebrity to be of service in the world. Fans of all generations will treasure this book for the inspiring portrayal it gives of their beloved “quiet” Beatle.

A native of the Southwest, Gary Tillery was born in Phoenix in 1947. In 1968-69 Tillery served in Vietnam with the United States Air Force. His enlistment over in 1970, he returned to Phoenix and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies from Arizona State University and a Master’s degree from the American Graduate School of International Management.

Red Velvet Media Records and Earth Day!

So many cool things going on and Red Velvet Media Records is ready to make some huge announcements ..(STAY TUNED!)

Earth Day is this Friday the 22ed and we are doing a special show with Holly Stephey
and Singer songwriter J.P Taylor!

J.P's songs are about the beauty of nature and the importance of protecting and preserving the environment. Rhythmic guitar music combined with lyrics and a wide array of instruments from didgeridoos to flutes focus on protecting endangered animals, habitat preservation and stewardship.

"Since I was a child I’ve been interested in and attracted to nature. And at an early age I became interested in music and began writing songs.

I became a teacher to make a difference in the world. Through my songs I’ve tried to help kids understand how people and the other living things in the world are interdependent – and share my passion for the Earth’s natural environment.

There are so many people all over the world who care about the Earth and are doing things to help our planet, little things and big things. More and more are joining us every day.

I have come to realize that my mission is to support and encourage these "Eco-Crusaders" and help spread the word about all they are doing, and all that still needs to be done, to save our planet.

I believe a song can change the world. A song can open eyes, minds, and hearts. Songs can inspire and encourage. The Earth needs people with passion to help us get back on track. My songs are for these people – looking forward, being positive, and working together."

This was pretty easy Spinach-Gruyere Soufflé

This was not too hard to try .. Make sure to post your recipe on Cooking on FB:)

Spinach-Gruyere Soufflé

2 tablespoons plus 1/2 teaspoon grapeseed or canola oil, divided
2 tablespoons dry breadcrumbs
1 (13-ounce) bunch fresh spinach, washed and tough stems removed
...1 garlic clove, minced
1 cup low-fat milk
...3 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
4 large egg yolks
5 large egg whites, at room temperature
3/4 cup (3 ounces) shredded Gruyere cheese

Preheat oven to 425. Position rack on lowest level in oven.

Oil a 1.5-quart soufflé dish with 1/2 teaspoon oil. Dust sides and bottom with breadcrumbs and chill.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add spinach, with water clinging to it from washing, in batches. Sauté 2 minutes, or until wilted. Dry spinach thoroughly in a clean kitchen towel, squeezing out any excess moisture. Chop finely.

Heat milk in small saucepan over medium heat to 180 (until tiny bubbles form around edge); do not boil.

Heat remaining 2 tablespoons oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic; cook 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Add flour and cook 2 minutes, or until flour loses its raw taste, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and whisk in warm milk. Whisk constantly over medium heat for 1 minute, or until very thick, then mix in salt and nutmeg. Whisk in egg yolks, one at a time. Stir in spinach. Scrape yolk mixture into a large bowl.

Using electric beaters, beat egg whites until stiff, satiny peaks form; do not overbeat. Using a rubber spatula, gently fold one-fourth of whites into yolk mixture. Repeat with remaining whites, sprinkling in a handful of cheese at a time. Gently scrape mixture into prepared dish.

Place dish in oven and reduce heat to 375F. Bake 35 minutes or until puffy and lightly browned.

I have a few of my own that I will be putting on the facebook Page and I received a call today from a publisher who is interested in what I am doing:) I have been working on a Children's book for over Five Years now and this has become a dream and reality come true for me . I will continue penning my Children's book but I will also be creating my Cookbook.

Please make sure to stop by the Facebook Page called "Cooking On FB" or the new website www.cookingonfb.com I remember watching Julie & Julia and thinking , how cool it must have been to be able to create the books she did and then make many of the recipes and the passion she had for creating foods people loved!
