Christmas,Holidays and Memories

Christmas,Holidays and Memories...

Sitting here,I think of past.. Present and future.. The future holds for us all a time of Peace and renewal and rebirth..
The past is there to remind you of the things you most Loved and grew through..

In order for us to be able to move into the future.. We must embrace the present and Grow.. Learn..Love...
I want to "Thank all of the people " Who have made this past year a success for
"Red Velvet Media"...
We have grown , met new people and lost some loved ones along the way...
My one wish for AlL this Christmas day is to find Peace in you and find that one spot inside that needs Love, and Light!

Sending Love and light to all and my wish for
Peace , Love & Happiness......

Red Velvet Media, Life, Love & Memories...

I am Sitting here thinking of the past year and all the changes ..positive, negative and life's lessons learned .. I personally want to embrace the changes that have come to the world in a more positive direction.. I still see conflict in many things but, my never ending hope for a world one day of Peace .. and harmony is not too far off in the distance..
I want to wish everyone who has been in Our life,Past and present ................
A never ending heart space of love and clarity to see the future and reach for your dreams and take the action that many of us at times have a hard time starting
in fear of doing the wrong thing...

There is nothing wrong when your heart speaks to you and you follow your dreams to make them today and your today a tomorrow..
I have always loved the lyrics to Ruby Tuesday ...

"Loose your dreams and you will loose your mind, ain't life unkind?"

We at Red Velvet Media want to wish you all a newness of life for the New Year and the holidays ...

I am very grateful to the people that have supported change
and given the time and Love to projects and productions that we
Red Velvet Media have done.

I send Light and never ending Love to those past and present ...I miss old Friends and miss Loved ones who have gone to the next place..
I pray that they have made it safe to the next place and that they see the never ending effort to make their positive influence a continuation of what they had started long ago...
I will end this with asking again.. 'What One thing would you do to make one change in the world today "?

Love ...Peace..&... Happiness...

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER unveiling ceremony in Second Life

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER unveiling ceremony in Second Life

For all of you that know me and all the work I have done over the Years with people that knew , loved & worked with John Lennon, This was a treat...
The dedication still went under way In Hollywood,Ca at the Capitol records Building as well as a few musical events around town centered around John Lennon...

Yoko made an appearance in the form of an avatar ..That is what you are in Second Life.. and she Danced .. Light her "ONOCHORD" and made a dedication speech..I will attach that as well as a link to the stream I personally have up from the tower ceremony that day.. It can be seen on flicker .. To view my Images GO HERE TO VIEW PHOTO COLLECTION

IMAGINE PEACE TOWER is an outdoor work of art conceived by Yoko Ono in
memory of John Lennon. It is situated on Viðey Island in Reykjavík, Iceland.

Yokos Speech for the Light tower in Second Life
IMAGINE PEACE TOWER UNVEILING SPEECH
by Yoko Ono Lennon
All spirits of goodness of this magical land, of the planet, and of the universe,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for witnessing our humble gathering
For the unveiling of IMAGINE PEACE TOWER.
They say, if all the people in China were to jump up and down at the same time,
The axis of the globe would shift.
Well, we are here together. Billions of us.
Standing at the dawn of a new age determined to shift the axis of the world to health,
Peace and joy by loving and caring for all lives on Earth.
Some of us are here physically, some are joining us in spirit.
Some of us are imprisoned, tortured, maimed and silenced, but they are also here today with us.
Some of us have passed away before being able to enjoy a new age of love and peace.
But we are all here today standing together with hope.
The light is the light of wisdom, healing and empowerment.
Even in the moments of confusion, fear and the darkness of your souls,
Hold the light in your hearts,
And you will know that you are not alone,
That we are all together in seeing the light of peace.
I thank the people of Second Life, for giving so much love to this tower from its inception.
IMAGINE PEACE TOWER was visualized with love, and realized by love.
It is a gift from John and Yoko and the people of Second Life to the world.
I know that John is with us, too, in this land of Nutopia,
happy that the light tower is finally a reality after 40 years.
Let’s make a wish as the light goes on.
Let’s send light to each other and say I love you!
i ii iii
John, we love you!

Red Velvet Media... Wants to Thank all of the People in the world who took part of this very important day!

Peace Day activities in Aftghanistan

Here is the latest news from Afghanistan in relation to Peace Day - 21 September 2009. The following statements were reased in the last few days.
President Hamid Karzai's message on the Peace Day 2009

Letter from H.E. President Hamid Karzai

Letter from H.E. President Hamid Karzai
ISAF to cease offensive operations on UN Peace Day

KABUL, Afghanistan (Sept. 17) - General Stanley McChrystal, commander of International Security Assistance Forces in Afghanistan, announced today ISAF will not conduct offensive military operations on Sept. 21to observe the United Nations' International Day of Peace.

"I have directed my forces to support our Afghan partners in ceasing offensive operations on September 21," said General McChrystal. "This is consistent with our intent to help the national army and police take the lead in protecting the Afghan people from the Taliban and other enemies of peace."

McChrystal's decision follows Afghan President Hamid Karzai's announcement that Afghan National Security Forces will not conduct operations on Sept. 21. Karzai noted that ANSF may continue to defend themselves and the Afghan public from insurgent attacks, and ISAF maintains the same provision for self-defence.

AMID WAR, A RESPITE FROM CONFLICT AS AFGHANISTAN MARKS PEACE DAY

21 September 2009 - A rare 24 hour cessation of offensive operations marking International Peace Day appeared to be holding firm across Afghanistan on Monday, with only isolated security incidents reported as of late afternoon.

"So far things are certainly different from any ‘normal' day at this time of year. We're seeing almost no incidents at this point," said Nauludole Mataitini, Chief Security Adviser for the UN in Afghanistan.

Officials at both Afghanistan's Ministry of Defence and NATO's International Security Assistance Force said the day appeared much quieter than usual, with only a scattering of minor incidents and no serious casualties.

Staff in UNAMA's regional offices reported a similar situation. "It's very peaceful... hard to believe," said Gabriel Iribarne, Head of Office in Kunduz. As of mid-afternoon, and with the exception of a rocket in the Nareza area of Khost province's Tani district that landed without harming anyone, and an unconfirmed incident in Kunar, things looked quiet. "We know there has been activity in Kunar's Nari district but at this stage it is too early for us to state anything categorically," said Nicholas Hercules, Officer-in-Charge, Eastern Region.

International Peace Day was established by resolutions 36/67 and 55/282 of the UN General Assembly, and aims to achieve a day of global ceasefire and non-violence. Of the world's major conflicts, Afghanistan has come close to achieving the aim of a complete halt in hostilities thanks to major campaigns since 2007. On Peace Day 2008 the UN's Department of Safety and Security recorded a 70 percent drop in security incidents in Afghanistan. Peace Day 2009 falls during the Eid ul-Fitr celebrations and the hope has been that the coincidence of dates would result in an even bigger impact.

Ahead of this year's Peace Day Afghanistan's Government ordered its forces to stand down. A similar declaration halting offensive operations was made by ISAF. The Taliban agreed to support a Peace Day polio immunization drive last week.

Together they are collaborating with initiatives around the world, linking efforts to bring awareness to the annual global ceasefire which is observed by all United Nations. This amazing accomplishment was established in 2001 by 'Peace One Day', a global community founded and led by British film-maker Jeremy Gilley (Voice 0,000,000,278) On Peace Day 2007 in Afghanistan, thanks to the efforts of 'Peace One Day', during the ceasefire NGO’s were able to mobilise and reach people in previously isolated war zones, allowing 1.4 million children to be immunised for Polio.

"I encourage everyone around the globe to recognize and celebrate International Day of Peace on September 21st. This is a day to honour all of those groups and people who work for peace everyday, all year long. I am a member of the PeaceJam Foundation and we are excited to be supporting Peace In Our Lifetimes' 'Global United Parties for Peace' in cities around the world and the United Nation's annual global cease fire. Until everyday is Peace Day, it is important that we do all we can to create a safe and just world -- we owe this to children across the globe." (Quote at http://www.peacejam.org/news.aspx?newsID=148#top)

In addition to Betty, another peace pioneer, 'The Peace Troubadour', James Twyman, added his voice (0,000,000,434) the internationally renowned best-selling author (The Art of Spiritual Peace Making & The Moses Code), film maker (Indigo) and musician – has also added his voice to peace. He says:

"I love the vision of this project and the creativity that inspired it. Today more and ever before we need to think outside the box and offer new ideas that help humanity see its own potential. This idea does all of that and I'm in full support."

All of the amazing work and celebrations taking place on ‘Peace Day’ are thanks to the hard work of volunteers and key partners around the world. Jeremy Gilley of ‘Peace One Day’ has made a public acknowledgement of thanks to one of the coordinators, he states

Its aims are to:

* Unite all: causes, people, cultures, nations, beliefs and non-beliefs.

'Peace One Day' (www.peaceoneday.org) is founded by British Filmaker Jeremy Gilley (www.imdb.com/name/nm0319074/). In 1999, Jeremy launched 'Peace One Day' to find a starting point for peace. His mission: to document efforts to establish the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence. Remarkably, two years on, he achieved this when the 192 member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted 21 September, as an annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence. This day is a 24 hour-long platform for life-saving activities around the world. On Peace Day 2007 in Afghanistan, through the efforts of 'Peace One Day', 1.4 million children were immunised for Polio.

This Video below is in Honor of our Mothers here and gone... I had lost my Mother when I was 12 to Cancer ,I will have a place in my heart always for her.The Yellow rose is my symbol for her and her remerbrance... When I was a child, She would give me Yellow Roses to smell when I missed her.. We were apart at times in my childhood , always traveling so, I missed her, and now I have my Yellow Rose!

my Daughter Alexandrea, She is my Life Force and nothing can come between the love of A Mother and her Daughter...
Alexandrea~

Here is a video that I think is very touching and the images are so good and true.

A poem I think is very good .. done by a small child...

STILL IN THE HEART

I have this Lady friend
Whose Mother passed away
Moving to a better place
And, a peaceful day.

I know about the pain
That, she is going through
Because the loss of “Mom”
Is the saddest, that is true.

Sometimes, it is a blessing
When their “life” is in decline
Not, what it used to be
When, “everything” worked fine.

But still, it hurts so much
When Mother goes away
When you know you won’t see Her
For, forever and a day.

But the memories will be there
And will help, to get you through
When, you’re thinking of Mom
And, feeling kind of blue.

We recognize this day as a symbolic expression that we can choose to love each and every day as we gather together and unite as a collective humanity through unconditional love.

We are one humanity on this planet.

All life is interconnected and interdependent.

All share in the Universal bond of love.

Love begins with self acceptance and forgiveness.

Global Love Day May 1st 2009..Join me...

~~~All of you that know me... Know my passion for LOVE!
What better way to express it than on Global Love day May1st 2009....
This is being done by a dear friend and I urge all of you to join in this ..
For Love is a never ending circle of Light..Love ... and energy...
We are just one month away from our sixth annual Global Love Day on Friday May 1 2009.
~ Global Love day May 1st 2009~
It is our vision to unite one and all in a celebration of love and compassion. We honor each May 1st as a symbolic day of unconditional love and call upon all people and all nations to gather together in the wisdom of peace and love. Global Love Day is the universal recognition of our innate oneness through love where we naturally and easily embrace ourselves and our fellow humanity. Opening our heart, we allow unconditional love to be our guide and compassion to be our gift to life.
~What you Can Do~~~
Simply be love. Let the love within your heart be the focus of your awareness throughout the day. Allow yourself to be accepting, forgiving, peaceful, joyful and in harmony with yourself and all life around you. Just be! Allowing unconditional love to be your primary intention is the main idea, and if you find yourself also wanting to actually “do” something loving or share the day with others, we provide a variety of ideas to get you started. World Water Day.. With Jewel.....
Click here to go to Project Clean Water
Project Clean Water....Message from Jewel
Clean water is a necessity that we can no longer take for granted. Each year more people die of water related diseases than any other cause of death on this planet. With a higher rate of suffering and mortality than diabetes, cancer, high cholesterol, or war; or any two combined for that matter! An entire economy is growing around water. Those without money are suffering the most and risk severe illness from contaminated sources.
Project Clean Water targets villages around the world with clean water problems, and finds sustainable solutions to provide them with safe drinking water. For example, in Tanzania, one village's inhabitants had to hike for miles to get water from a muddy hole for their families and cattle. We provided them with a solar paneled well system, and installed it with the tribesmen. In Tibet, one village's only water source was a stagnant amoebae filled pool. We installed a filtration system, which meant not only could they enjoy clean water, but also solved many of the health problems plaguing the village. Our aim is to work with communities and governments to protect clean water supplies while restoring contaminated sources.
To date we have helped over 30 communities overcome their individual drinking water problems in 13 different countries, on 5 different continents. I have funded the project through ticket sales and donations. We run everything in-house, therefore I can personally guarantee the quality of our project.
I became interested in clean water when I was 18 and lived in my car. I had sick kidneys and had to drink 2 gallons of purified water a day. I could not afford to buy much bottled water, and it dawned on me that if it was this hard to get clean drinking water in the United States, then it was probably a huge global issue. Boy, was I right.
Solutions and technologies exist to provide clean, affordable drinking water anywhere in the world. These solutions will save lives, reduce financial burdens, foster peace, and relieve millions of people from worrying about their next drink of water.
Red Velvet Media Supports Kid's Vs Global warming
Alec, 14 years old, is a Freshman at El Camino High School, in Ventura California.
He founded Kids vs Global Warming when he was 12 years old after watching Al Gore’s movie, “an inconvenient truth.” Feeling the weight of the global situation and a sense that he could make a difference, Alec felt compelled to tell other kids about the problems we are facing. His message is deeply rooted in hope, encouraging kids to speak up and let their voices be heard on this issue.
Alec created a presentation made specifically for youth, full of videos, animation, easy-to-understand science, and compelling motivation for kids K-college ages. He gave over 30 global warming presentations before being invited by Al Gore to be formally trained with the Climate Project in October of 2008. He is now the youngest trained presenter with The Climate Project.
Tea in fabulous Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco
While Searching for the perfect place to relax and feel like I were at home, I came across this most amazing place.. I am planning a party here as they love to have parties all the time ...To make resvertations call the Tea room at 415-771-4252
Welcome to Crown & Crumpet, a stylish room with tea and wit, in fabulous Ghirardelli Square in San Francisco. The delicious food and libations will transport you to a classic, traditional tea salon in England, but the stylish and vibrant décor tells you this is not a stuffy, Victoriana “ye olde tea shoppe.”
Built on the love and consumption of many cups of tea the world over, owners Amy and Christopher Dean invite you to slow down and enjoy the tea experience with friends, family or on your own. Forget about that cup of coffee and step inside the world of Crown & Crumpet, a spirited, delicious, and sometimes cheeky, room with a view, serving the world’s most popular drink — second only to water.
Pastry Chef Caroline Romanski is a veteran of some of the Bay Area's best including Oliveto, Stars, The Blue Fox, La Farine bakery, Arlequin, Cafe Monk, Bay Bread Boulangerie, Bittersweet Cafes, and most recently Patisserie Philippe. She also worked on the East Coast at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Tyson’s Corner and Lespinasse Restaurant in the Washington, D.C. area. Miss Romanski graduated from the California Culinary Academy in the mid 80's and furthered her training in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Crown & Crumpet opened in the newly revamped Ghirardelli Square in the heart of old San Francisco in late September 2008. A destination tearoom known for top-quality food and excellent libations, all with the style and charm that one finds in modern day Britain. Crown & Crumpet infuses tradition with a large dose of panache and humor. There is no ‘Granny’s front parlor’ look for Crown & Crumpet. Renowned English architect and designer Roland Courtenay Bishop has created an architecturally inviting space with a creative interior décor designed by owners Christopher and Amy Dean.
We offer a range of food service beginning with a breakfast selection (10 am) and move on to light lunch and afternoon tea service which starts at 11 am.
Love Potion....Global Love Day!
I don’t know about you, but for me Valentine’s day is not about a $200 bottle of wine or a dinner reservation that took months to get, but instead, a festive ritual meant to be spent with the one (or ones) you love in whatever way you chose to celebrate each other.
Of course, nothing adds to the merriment like an organic cocktail made just for the occasion. Newlyweds Jay Esopenko and Melissa Gugni, owners of Drink Event Bartending in San Francisco, have designed a couple especially for us. Enjoy!
Love Potion #12
2 oz. organic 100% pomegranate juice
1 1/2 oz. Square One organic vodka
1/2 blood orange squeezed
1/2 lime squeezed
1/4 to 1/2 oz. simple syrup (1/2 raw sugar–1/2 water dissolved)
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice, shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a cocktail glass. Float 3 fresh cranberries for garnish.
Raspberry Bliss (non alcoholic)
6 organic raspberries
2 sprigs of fresh organic thyme
1/2 organic Meyer lemon
1/2 oz. simple syrup (1/2 raw sugar–1/2 water dissolved)
3 oz. sparkling water
Remove the leaves from one sprig of thyme and add with 5 raspberries to a shaker. Muddle. Add lemon juice, simple syrup and ice. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds and strain into a hi-ball glass filled with ice. Top with sparkling water and garnish with a raspberry and sprig of thyme.
Another day to remember is Global Love day on May 1st,2009
It is our vision to unite one and all in a celebration of love and compassion. We honor each May 1st as a symbolic day of unconditional love and call upon all people and all nations to gather together in the wisdom of peace and love.
Global Love Day is the universal recognition of our innate oneness through love. When we come from this limitless love we naturally and easily embrace ourselves and our fellow humanity. Opening our heart, we allow unconditional love to be our guide and compassion to be our gift to life.
We invite you to celebrate with us by consciously focusing on love and what it means to you throughout this day. We hope that by practicing love in all areas of your life, you will find it easy to love unconditionally all year long.
Our main theme explains it best...
Save a Little Love for the Planet on Valentine’s Day
Save a Little Love for the Planet on Valentine’s Day
free trade chocolatesValentine’s Day is fast approaching! February 14th is Saturday and you want to be prepared, but while you’re at it why not show some love for the planet too. It doesn’t take much to green your Valentine’s gifts and festivities. You will be surprised at how much love you can spread around the world. Here are some great tips you can use to show your loved one you care about them, and the planet.
1. Buy valentine cards from local artists who make greeting cards out of recycled material.
2. Make your own valentine cards with recycled items and things from nature such as dried flowers, satin ribbons, fabric hearts.
3. If you like to dine by candlelight dine with eco-friendly fragrance free candles. Beeswax or vegetable based candles that are biodegradable and smoke-free are a good choice.
4. If you drink wine or champagne make sure it’s the organic kind and if there is a vineyard near by buy from there. You will be supporting a local business, cutting down the use of packaging for shipping and probably saving some money too.
5. Buy Organic or fair trade chocolates treats, (if you can buy from companies whose profits go to helping endangered species) or make your own chocolate treats with organic chocolates, nuts and fruits.
6. Buy lingerie made of hemp or organic cotton.
7. Wrap gifts in red fabric or recycled wrapping paper.
8. Don’t buy a vase of flowers. Buy instead a locally grown potted plant of red roses. Not only is this more environmentally friendly, but they also last longer. You can also go a step further and plant the roses in the ground for your loved one.
9. Gifts that are not materialistic: name a star after your loved one, buy a piece of the rain forest, make a donation in their name, etc.
10. Get really romantic, put on an organic apron and make a home cooked organic meal.
